Job Description

The candidate will work with DES Electrical team to help develop the design and testing of the Electrical hardware for the Beam Control System through the full product life-cycle (Design, Build, Test and Integrate). Specific tasks and responsibilities include the following:

* Generate/update electrical design using OrCAD, Zuken and equivalent tools, create/revise detailed drawings and release engineering work products in EPDM

* Review requirements from various sources, and ensure that applicable requirements are flowed into the detailed design of the products

* Must be able to work effectively in an integrated product team environment

* Support configuration control of designs and drawings using EPDM

* Supports Beam Control system integration and test activities and anomaly investigation teams.

The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to work in a team environment, have an exceptional work ethic and be knowledgeable across a broad range of topics in the electrical engineering discipline. The successful candidate shall possess good process focus and be able to intelligently apply standard processes to real-world applications. The candidate is required to be thorough, with good attention to detail and a solid understanding of documentation methods and requirements.

*******This position is contingent upon the Shield Turrett Research in Aero-Effects (STRAFE) contract award expected April, 2016. The STRAFE Program will develop a TRL 6 beam control system that demonstrates future air dominance laser feasibility and is part of the overall Directed Energy portfolio. Basic Qualifications 1. Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 2 years of professional experience; or no experience required with a related Masters degree. Considered experienced, but still a learner.

2. Familiarity with Electrical Engineering Design and Simulation Tools (such as OrCAD, ZUKEN, SPICE, etc). Experience using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies).

3. Electrical design, manufacturing, integration and Hands-on hardware experience

4. Knowledge of Electrical manufacturing processes and documentation

5. Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical issues to subordinates, peers, management, subcontractors and customers.

6. Demonstrated ability to work within multidisciplinary product development teams

7. Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills Desired skills 1. Familiarity with Lockheed Martin specifications/tools/procedures

2. Experience in development, integration and testing of analog and digital circuits.

3. Electrical design, manufacturing, integration and Hands-on hardware experience

4. Experience in providing engineering support to electronics package production and the disposition of production hardware (E.g., Material Review Board or equivalent)

5. Experience with failure investigations with working knowledge of root cause methodologies. (E.g., Fault tree, fishbone diagrams)

6.
