Job Description

At Location Labs, we do QA different. A model of cross-collaboration and training, our QA team structure is built on the philosophy that nothing should limit what a QA engineer can do. She or he should be given the opportunity to use the same skill set required of developers, not be put into a test-execution box.

And because we're a true meritocracy, those who grow at Location Labs wouldn't dream of saying, "That's not my job." This is the ideal place for people who live to take initiative to improve everything from team processes to their own abilities. (And that's not just lip service. Our COO started as a summer intern. True story, you can ask him.) You'll get to work with some motivated, creative people who've built our QA team into the machine of innovation and efficiency it is today.

You will get to:

Work with a new automation framework we're building in-house, and be part of the building process, working with cutting-edge, original framework
Always use the latest Apple mobile technology to diagnose and solve problems
Design and develop test plans and test cases, then provide test execution results and regular reports on your testing to the team at large for review and learning
Play a key role in feature specification reviews

You will need to:

Have a BS in computer science and/or 3+ years' industry-related experience
Totally get Objective C or Swift and JavaScript
Be comfortable with Linux servers and mobile phone operating systems
Understand modular and object-oriented programing techniques

What makes QA at Location Labs different?

Location Labs apps and services originated from the vision that mobile phones can be more than cool communication gadgets-they can keep people safer. So our monthly paying subscribers rely on our products to perform, every time.

Fulfilling our mission to deliver "mobile security for humans" often requires superhuman results-which can only come from a tightly integrated team. That's why as a Location Labs QA Engineer who ensures the seamless interaction of our iOS applications with server infrastructure, you won't just execute tests, you'll collaborate with developers and other QA engineers to author automation code and test plans, then run test cases. You'll be the vital gatekeeper who lets only rock-solid products reach users' hands. More important, you'll get to help build the processes for making that happen.

So the job itself sounds cool, but why work at Location Labs?

We make mobile apps that were the first of their kind and that millions of people use every day to keep the most important people in their lives safe and sound. In short: if you work here, you truly get to make other people's lives better, in tangible ways, every day.

We offer an excellent benefits package, in addition to plenty of perks, like a fully stocked kitchen, top-notch espresso machines, an on-site gym and yoga studio, weekly company happy hours, and bi-weekly massages right in the office, to name just a few.

And you couldn't ask for a better bunch of folks to spend your days with, frankly. We're ultimate Frisbee players, knitters, dog lovers, caffeine freaks, whiskey connoisseurs, rock climbers, seven-hour-Bolognese-sauce makers, carpenters, photographers, lovers of life and of doing the best work we possibly can, together.

Now we want to hear about you! For more about us, visit www.locationlabs.com .
