Responsibilities:

* Design and implement solutions


* Comprehend business strategies and requirements and develop necessary designs and plans to ensure projects and solutions satisfy those needs.


* Act as a contributing member of the project team/s from project inception to completion


* Actively listen to problems and needs to implement that information when creating solution plans


* Provide advice and make recommendations about which technologies would be suitable to use for various projects.


* Consistently monitor the scope of projects


* Collaborate with project managers and other staff members to develop resourcing and timelines for solutions


* Assess and evaluate risk as required


* Maintain understanding of how individual work and decisions fit into the broader picture


* Keep skills updated and remain proactively aware of happenings and current events in the industry


* Mentor, educate and train colleagues as requested.



Requirements:

* You are passionate about designing, implementing and maintaining products
* Bachelor's degree in computer science or software engineering
* Minimum 5+ years of Front-end development experience utilizing Javascript.
* Minimum 2+ years of development experience utilizing JS framework React
* Minimum 2+ years of development experience working within Java environment (Java experience is a major plus)
* Experience with integrating with high-volume transactional systems and public facing APIs
* Experience with an open source development environment using tools such as Maven, Jenkins, Git, GIT CI
* Solid understanding of object-oriented and functional programming, data structures and algorithms
* Ability to troubleshoot, performance tune and understand JavaScript memory & thread utilization in code produced
* Desire and ability to learn new technologies quickly

Bonus Experience:

* Experience working in a dev-ops environment
* Experience working with NodeJS is highly prefered
* Experience working with serverless technology is a major plus
* Solid understanding and experience with service oriented and micro-service architectures
* Experience with open-source libraries/frameworks, e.g. Hystrix, Ribbon, Vert.x, Eureka, etc.
* Experience in scripting languages i.e. PHP, Bash, Perl, Ruby, Python
* Experience in Agile & Lean Development Experience
* Experience in automated testing and behavior testing frameworks such as Cucumber, Nightwatch
* Public Cloud experience preferably in AWS
* You maintain or contribute to open-source software projects
