Job Description

General Responsibilities:

Introduce a supportive, collaborative environment where machine and assembly personnel are inspired to work together across shifts to achieve team/company initiatives, including the creation of High Performing Work Teams (HPWT). Develop, train and encourage team members and new associates towards an understanding of the unit, department and company business metrics. Facilitate collaboration in problem solving to determine better, more efficient and/or less costly solutions as challenges arrive. Encourage continuous improvement at all times and in even the most basic activities, including training and support of new associates (both regular and temps) to reduce turnover and improve quality, safety, cost, etc.

Job Duties:

  • Motivate team members to work together to solve problems and retain new associates.
  • Provide the necessary support needed by team members.
  • Identify and capitalize on the strengths of team members.
  • Utilize/encourage team members to provide training to new associates in all tasks.
  • Ensure team's responsibilities to maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Facilitate team involvement in the planning/execution of changes to achieve effective line layout.
  • Develop self/team to understand team KPI's (key performance indicators/metrics).
  • Facilitate team and/or perform material handling activities as needed.
  • Facilitate team and/or perform part repairs as needed.
  • Record/report hours used for various direct and indirect activities.
  • Record/report repairs, scrap, downtime.
  • Develop team to anticipate/recognize problems & develop plans to improve results.
  • Facilitate team's business understanding such as the basic inventory transactions.


  • Must have/be able to obtain lift truck license.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills (team player, service oriented).
  • Must be a good communicator and good listener.
  • Must possess good organizational skills.
  • Ability to pass a basic math/computer skills test (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Must be detailed oriented and maintain a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to learn and use proficiently all inventory, billing and traffic systems.
  • Must possess a Tow motor license within 2 weeks of start.
  • Flexible, willing to work overtime with little notice.
  • Must be self-motivated; able to work with little supervision.
  • Must be safety conscious.
  • Frequent lifting (10-50 pounds).
