Job Description

Job Summary:

Oversee all hospital based financial services to include the accounting, audit, finance, and control functions. Responsible for the timely and accurate reporting of all financial data and for providing financial reports required by Hospital management and regulatory and rating agencies. Direct and control the cost accounting, general accounting and budgeting functions. Responsible for the development, analysis and interpretation of statistical and accounting information to appraise profitability, capital expenditures and performance against budget.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Education

Graduate of a Bachelor's Degree Program in Business Administration, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Accounting, or related filed

Certifications

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred

Minimum Work Experience

Five (5) years of progressive accounting experience within the healthcare industry, of which at least two (2) years must be in managing one or more Finance departments demonstrating oversight, fully competent grasp of subject matter, and team management responsibilities.

Essential Functions

Coordinates and administers an adequate plan for the control of operations to include: a plan providing profit planning, revenue forecasts, expense budgets, accounts receivable, cost standards and saving opportunities, and capital investing, together with the necessary controls and procedures to effectuate the plan.

Recommends, implements, and monitors compliance with all accounting and payroll policies.

Compares performance with operating plans and standards. Provides reports and interpret the results of operations to all levels of management.

Conducts special accounting studies, analyses, and cost studies, and provide statistics and comments to assist in the interpretation of operating results and provide specific recommendations which will result in cost reductions and income improvements.

Recommends and initiates special projects and service goals, analyze growth and provide accurate, complete, and timely submission of required progress reports, forecasts, quotations, budgets, and rates.

Oversees the management and direction of the performance, recruitment, retention, and development of the finance staff and confers with direct reports to establish responsibilities and procedures for attaining objectives which contribute to improved cost, quality, productivity, and/or competitive position in the market place.

Maintains overall responsibility for all aspects of the Hospital's Finance function, including the implementation of strategies and the establishment of goals to achieve operational efficiency and customer service objectives.

Develops, implements, and monitors policies and programs regarding Finance, and other related functions to support key Hospital business strategies.

Enforces, through subordinate management, compliance with all federal and state regulations regarding financial and cost control.

Identifies opportunities and take action to enhance compliance within own team.

Consults with Human Resources to develop and implement strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps; recruiting, selecting, and developing talent; supporting mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning; and supporting associate efforts in these areas.
