Job Description

Overview

Responsible for supporting the financial accounting staff using accounting policies and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports, and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures.

Additional Details

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

* Work and help prepare monthly financial statements for the hospice promise foundation. This includes:
* Posting all donations to the correct locations
* Posting grant checks and any bank card expenses to the correct locations
* Preparing and bringing deposits to the bank on a weekly basis
* Closing out the monthly financial statements in QuickBooksPreparing and posting the monthly prepaid entry for the company.
* Preparing and posting the monthly prepaid entry for the company.
* Working with the Home Office Treasury department to ensure accuracy of all home office deposits and bringing all deposits to bank on a weekly (sometimes daily) basis.
* Assist in preparing the monthly fixed asset listing and helping with the preparation of the monthly journal entry for all fixed assets.
* Monitoring Non-Current asset accounts on a normal basis to make sure that any assets which have to be added to the monthly depreciation schedules are moved timely.
* Assist the financial reporting teams in running balance sheet reports on a monthly basis.
* Help ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
* Perform all procedures in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley.
* Adhere to all departmental policies and procedures.
* Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications

Skills & Abilities:

* Currently enrolled in an accredited college studying accounting
* Junior or Senior level college ranking (preferred, but not necessary)
* Must be skilled in use of Excel
* Attention to detail
* Must possess excellent work habits and dependability
* Able to work approximately 20 hours per week
