Job Description

H L Media, home of the Lexington Herald-Leader and Kentucky.com is seeking our next Special Projects Coordinator in our Advertising division. 

Experience in the following is necessary to apply:

  • Coordinating internal and external resources, including other employees, for execution of projects
  • Handling multiple projects in various stages of completion at the same time
  • Editing written advertising materials submitted by other individuals

 

Candidates with prior marketing skills are encouraged to apply.

  • Leads local multi-media sales team in all efforts of selling targeted sections.
  • Identifies targeted revenue opportunities (sections, contests, quizzes, etc.) and works with staff to strategically plan ways to capture and maximize those opportunities. Helps to drives new business development on the local level through creative project ideas.
  • Develops and executes successful events.
  • Assists VP Advertising and Marketing Manager in community relations functions
  • Multi-media marketing and advertising expertise
  • Experience in planning, promoting and executing events
  • Professional business relationship development skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications, problem solving, and prioritization skills
  • Effective leadership abilities

SKILLS/PROFESSIONAL CHARACTERISTICS:

Education:  Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, preferably in advertising, marketing, or other related fields.

Experience:  minimum 2 years experience in digital/media strategy preferred.
