Job Description


Evesham Township Fire District No. 1 is presently accepting applications for the position of Assistant Business Manager. This is a senior management position with the potential for advancement to Business Manager upon the retirement of the current Business Manager (currently anticipated late 2018). Minimum qualifications are: (1) A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration. An advanced degree in public or business administration is highly preferred; (2) Five years or more experience in a senior management position with a New Jersey local government entity. Thorough knowledge of the New Jersey Local Public Contracts Law, Local Fiscal Affairs Law, Local Authorities Fiscal Control Law and Local Bond Law a must; (3) Proficiency in using the Edmunds and Associates municipal accounting software program is required. Possession of a New Jersey Qualified Purchasing Agent (QPA) certification or ability to obtain certification within six months of employment is preferred; and (4) A current Certified Municipal Finance Officer (CMFO) and/or Registered Municipal Clerk (RMC) certification is also highly desirable. 

While no guarantee of promotion can be offered, it is the desire of the District to hire an Assistant Business Manager that can work under the current Business Manager until his retirement and then move into the Business Manager position.
