Job Description

The Financial Representative performs a variety of accounts payable, accounting and administrative functions in conformance with established Credit Union policies and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities:

Performs functions, within scope of authority and expertise, to provide the highest level of service and responsiveness to members served by the Credit Union.

* Reviews and verifies all Credit Union invoices for payment and ensures expenditures are charged to appropriate accounts.


* Inputs paper invoices into accounts payable software by scanning or emailing to prepare for processing. Understands and keeps up-to-date with all aspects of the accounts payable software.


* Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities; verifies Federal Tax ID numbers; schedules and prepares checks for payment; resolves payment discrepancies; issues stop payments and rush checks when necessary. Obtains signatures on checks as needed.


* Verifies employee expense reimbursements reports and processes reimbursements. Responds to employee inquiries regarding the status of expense reimbursement.


* Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to general ledger balances.


* Reports sales tax by calculating requirements on paid invoices.


* Prepares related accounting department checks for deposit to the Federal Reserve Bank.


* Processes year-end 1099 forms and ensures they are accurate and complete.


* Responds to vendor inquires in regards to payments; researches payments as needed.


* Adheres to all LCU policies and procedures. Responsible for compliance with the following regulations: BSA, OFAC, and other regulations as required.

Secondary Responsibilities:


* Performs filing and copying of various financial related documents.


* Performs related accounting and administrative duties as assigned.


* Remains current on accounts payable changes and trends by participating in educational opportunities.

Supervisory Responsibility:

N/A.



Experience and Skills:

High school diploma or equivalent in specialized coursework and training. One year of accounting or bookkeeping experience is preferred. Must be detail oriented and have good organizational and analytical skills. Ability to utilize various types of office equipment, including computer terminal. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
