System Integration & Test Intern

Job Description:

Leidos Civil Transportation Solutions is seeking a System Integration & Test Intern.

Computer/System Engineering or Mathematics degree preferred for a dynamic team working on the Federal Aviation Administration's Terminal Flight Data Manager TFDM technology, which is part of the Next Generation Air Transportation System.

TFDM is one of the seven NextGen Transformational Programs and one of three Traffic Management Programs in the ATS's Decision Support Systems and will integrate digital flight plans with surface surveillance data to create accurate, real-time predictive tools for the terminal environment. TFDM will share data among controllers, aircraft operators and airports so they can better stage arrivals and departures, and manage traffic flow within terminal airspace for greater efficiency and safety. It will help improve gate departure efficiency for the airlines and will significantly reduce or eliminate queues of airplanes waiting for departure on a runway.

Responsibilities:

Working both as a member of a team and independently the successful candidate will:

Optimizing the experience for the flying public, Air Traffic Control, and the airline industry by improving the collaboration and decision-making capabilities of flight controllers.

Linux OS and OS concepts desirable.

Be able to work in a group or independently

Coordinate Solutions with Systems Engineering

Provide support in ensuring team goals are met

Develop and maintain regression test procedures

Analyze identified issues in conjunction with System Engineering and Software in regards to developing solutions support test and requirement verification & validation

Must have a High school diploma or equivalent and 0- 2 years of related work experience.

Candidates must be enrolled in a degree program in a relevant discipline.

Candidate must be able to obtain an SF-85P Public Trust clearance from the FAA customer.
