Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Tibco Oasis Technical Lead is to develop Tibco Oasis solutions for The Venetian | The Palazzo in addition to contributing to both global and property design and architecture of the Tibco Oasis suite of products.  All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian | The Palazzo Casino Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities


  • Develop and maintain solutions for the property in the Tibco suite of products
  • Contribute to global design and architecture discussions related to Tibco suite of products
  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise for business functions or configuration of Tibco Business Works application system environments in the LVS Application suite
  • In partnership with the PMO and Enterprise Architecture teams, provide subject matter expertise for determining business requirements to address business opportunities or issues across business functions within a Las Vegas Sands functional vertical.
  • Working with the Product Management team and vendors, actively participate in the discovery phase in support of the business requirements across functional areas
  • Assist in providing input for project/effort modeling and sizing of solutions
  • Develop functional and technical specifications from the business requirements
  • Develop criteria for supporting developed solutions
  • Create solutions that will include components of systems development, process improvement, organizational change, strategic planning, or policy development
  • Successfully engage in multiple initiatives concurrently, including application and on call support, minor projects, major projects, functional requirements, systems specifications and subject matter expertise
  • Work independently with users to define concepts under direction of Project Managers and Product Managers
  • Continuously build knowledge base of LVS application suite
  • Provide application and on call support for LVS application suite
  • Provide application development and support as required for project implementation and ongoing operational support

  • Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: business requirements, functional requirements, Use Cases
  • Utilize experience in using enterprise-wide requirements definition and management systems and methodologies required
  • Drive and collaborate with business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans
  • Serve as the conduit between the voice of the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which requirements flow
  • Develop requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language
  • Collaborate with developers to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs
  • Independently and self-directed, manage projects of short duration projects (typically 1 to 3 months)
  • Participate as a resource on major projects as requested
  • Application Development for Tibco Oasis suite which may include customization, integration, interface development, etc.


Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.

  • Education:  Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or similar program preferred or related experience
  • Experience:  A minimum of 5 years expertise in various Tibco products
  • Certifications:  ITIL V3 or Tibco certifications are highly valued
  • Expertise associated with a Tibco BusinessWorks environment, web development, etc. XML, SQL
  • Experience with large, complex projects
  • Business and technical analysis skills, with the ability to forecast implications and provide consultative recommendations and solutions
  • Casino and hospitality application knowledge preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts
  • Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
  • Strong organizational skills, customer service focus, attention to detail, and process orientation
  • Ability to distill and present information to senior leaders
  • Comfortable in an Admin or report creation role on applications in general.
  • Flexibly adapt to a changing environment
  • Must be willing to be 24 x 7 on-call support
  • 21+ years of age
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a positive/upbeat fashion utilizing English, both in oral and written form.
  • Have interpersonal skills with focused attention to guest needs to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to Company appearance standards.
  • Maintain consistent adherence to the Venetian and Palazzo Unmatched Guest Service Standards.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
