Job Description

Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Wardrobe Manager is to oversee the daily operation of the Wardrobe Departments; to direct the wardrobe supervisors, clerk, attendants and seamstresses to ensure the Company standard of Unmatched Guest Service.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian | The Palazzo Casino Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide unmatched service to all guests at all times.
  • Responsible for the purchasing of uniforms and initiating purchase orders.
  • Annually evaluate uniform costs by department and provide projected costs for the next year’s budgets.
  • Evaluate the performances of the wardrobe supervisors, clerk and seamstresses and their direct functions.
  • Continuously seek ways to improve quality of garments.
  • Develop and maintain 5 Diamond - 4 Star standards for all uniformed departments
  • Develop and maintain ongoing department training initiatives.
  • Implement system to seek feedback from guests regarding quality of service and product.
  • Resolve internal guest issues ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Provide accurate direction and information for guest inquiries and is knowledgeable about all aspects of the Venetian Palazzo Casino Resort services, features, attractions, promotions and special events.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.
  • Manage staff and organize department functions in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Delegate tasks and department assignments or projects, meeting deadlines related to those assignments.
  • Focus on achieving the goals or objectives of the department using available resources (staff and budgetary).
  • Evaluate the schedule or timelines related to the completion of assignments, while maintaining service and/or product quality.
  • Develop staff skills to enhance department effectiveness and manage resources to eliminate excess cost or unnecessary expenditures.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Proven track record as a Wardrobe Manager/Supervisor is strongly preferred with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
  • Previous guest relations training experience preferred.
  • Must possess knowledge of garment cleaning in an industrial environment; inventory control; basic knowledge of industrial sewing equipment.
  • Must have the ability to initiate purchase orders in Stratton-Warren; ability to schedule proper workforce levels; function in a very fast-paced, busy and somewhat stressful environment.
  • Must be able to maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with guests, all levels of management, team members and any outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • Must have the ability to logically and independently plan, organize and complete work; to set and achieve high standards of performance, to make progress on multiple assignments under time constraints.
  • Must possess knowledge of Microsoft Office and have the ability to operate all office equipment such as telephones, copiers, fax machine, etc.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to Company appearance standards.
  • Maintain consistent adherence to the Venetian and Palazzo Unmatched Guest Service Standards.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to:

  • Lift or carry 50 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to touch and handle supplies in a safe and non-hazardous manner, maintaining proper hygiene, cleanliness, and disposal methods.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
