Job Description

Position Overview

The primary responsibility of the Supervisor - Corporate Accounting is to assist in the management of all financial reporting, accounting, and finance/accounting related special projects. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Las Vegas Sands Corp’s policies, practices, and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists with the monthly corporate consolidation and financial closing process
  • Provides accurate, timely and usable reports to department heads and management team
  • Provides assistance to Corporate Finance in the development and monitoring of fiscal budgets and division operations to produce both short term and long-term profitability for the Company
  • Assists with the maintenance of the existing Accounting Manual that covers our most prevalent transactions, including chart of account definitions, account reconciliations, etc.
  • Assist with all functions of LVSC’s external financial reporting process (SEC filings, XBRL, press releases, statutory financial statements, Audit Committee materials, etc.)
  • Coordinates and contributes to the review of complex contracts to ensure proper accounting treatment
  • Ensures proper preparation and review of all responses to information document requests from external auditors
  • Advises management of problem areas and requests assistance as necessary
  • Identifies potential problems, recommends sound solutions and supports implementation
  • Effectively advocates Accounting Department programs and policies to committees and departmental groups
  • Coordinates Accounting Department activities with other business activities and other divisions
  • Supports departmental and company decisions, even if unpopular
  • Provides input into and executes strategic plan for Corporate Accounting consistent with the strategic vision of LVSC
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization to work in the United States
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required, Master’s degree in Accounting or MBA preferred.
  • 4-8 years’ experience in finance/accounting, with minimum 2-4 years in large public accounting firm.
  • Must have experience with financial statement closings and analysis.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to:

  • Meet the basic physical requirements of an office environment including moving freely and frequently about an office, accessing computers and related technologies using peripheral equipment and operating other office equipment with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
