Job Description

Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Analyst – AML/SAR Business Intelligence is to provide technical support and analysis, as well as the execution of special projects in support of anti-money laundering (AML) Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) requirements.  All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian | The Palazzo Casino Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.  

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with maintaining SQL, TrackVia, MS Access, and Spotfire databases in support of anti-money laundering (AML) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) requirements for analyzing patron data and financial transactions.
  • Assist Department leadership with the design and implementation of integrated solutions for AML patron transaction, monitoring capabilities.
  • Assist with developing the Department’s predictive statistical modeling for suspicious activity detection, monitoring, and reporting in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly management reports, including visualization of AML-related metrics that detail suspicious activity types, patron payments, incomplete CTRs, etc.
  • Prepare documentation that clearly describes the design, methodology, testing, and model validation of all projects prior to implementation.
  • Develop project plans based on AML SOP requirements and other defined enterprise standards, as well as ensuring projects are executed in a timely fashion and in accordance with ISO 9000 quality control standards.
  • Maintain working knowledge of Title 31 regulations and related guidance issued by FinCEN as they pertain to a casino environment.
  • Provide ideas for new data analytics solutions in response to new or updated AML regulatory requirements; provide ongoing assessment, evaluation, and review of data-mining processes.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field preferred.
  • 3 years IT industry experience or equivalent technical experience preferred
  • 1 year experience in the areas of statistical modeling, data mining, and/or data analytics.
  • Demonstrated expertise in MS Excel, MS Access, SQL, SSMS, and/or TIBCO Spotfire; familiarity with using BI tools (e.g. IBM Cognos).
  • Basic knowledge of project management tools (e.g., MS Project).
  • Must possess strong critical thinking skills and ability to evaluate and resolve complex issues.
  • Ability to effectively execute multiple projects concurrently and independently.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
