Job Description

Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Operator - Scheduling is to update the schedule daily and adjust based on business needs.  All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian | The Palazzo Casino Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Adjust the schedule daily to reflect sick calls, LOAs and FMLA.
  • Call in staff based on sick calls.
  • Make sure that all staff is assigned to the right games based on proficiencies.
  • Optimize short strings by reducing tightening reliefs.
  • Ensure proper salon staffing based on pit manager/shift manager requests.
  • Re-allocate staff to games to open or close tables based on demand and Tangam recommendations.
  • Review next day’s schedule and revise if needed based on expectations.
  • Coordinate the early out process based on business needs.
  • Coordinate the late in process based on business needs.
  • Coordinate mid-shift sick leaves.
  • Assist Shift Manager/Pit Manager as needed throughout the shift.
  • Create daily labor reports.
  • Consistently check team members coding and ensure accuracy.
  • Meet regularly with operations and scheduling team to gather operational feedback and explain changes.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High School diploma.
  • College degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • Gaming Operations experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under deadlines.
  • Must be proficient with computer programs including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Virtual Roster (or similar scheduling software) experience preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Nevada Gaming License and Alcohol Awareness (TAM) card and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy. 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Must be able to:

  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
