Due to our growth, we have a senior level mechanical engineer positions opening at our Fremont CA campus.

Our mechanical engineering jobs allow you to combine your creative design side with your technical engineering skills. You will join a respected, tenured and diverse engineering organization focused on the design of next generation tools for the semiconductor capital equipment industry. Your primary job function will be cutting edge R&D activities in the semiconductor equipment industry designing and analyzing mechanical systems, equipment and packaging, conducting feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs.


* Design and develop hardware
* Projects may include one or a combination of multiple disciplines that include identification and evaluation of concepts for fluid flow, heat transfer, mechanics, vacuum systems, RF/plasma, controls and instrumentations. Includes optimizing designs for manufacturability and cost efficiency (DFx).
* Rapidly generate design concepts - may also need to develop detail drawings
* Perform Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEAs)
* Organize, participate and lead design reviews
* Analyze designs developed - may need to use structural analysis (FEAs), thermal analysis and fluid flow analysis.
* Mentor junior and new engineers
* Conduct feasibility studies - including generation of well documented test plans
* Manage new product development BOMs and provide Engineering interface for Pilot Manufacturing operations
* Carried out design characterization testings, reliability testings and failure analysis as required

* Mechanical Engineering or related field; a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8+ years of industry experience; a Master's degree with 5 years' experience; a PhD with 3 years experience in the semiconductor capital equipment or related industries.
* This is not a job for new graduates. Hands-on experimental experience is required.
* Proficient in using 3D CAD and analysis tools such as Creo, NX, Pro/Mechanica, Comsol, etc. is required.
* Demonstrated knowledge and working experience in plasma and/or thermal deposition reactors to deposit thin films on semiconductor devices.
* Demonstrated proficiency with Labview and data acquisition technique, optical spectroscopy, acoutic, instrumentation and control preferred
* Skills in Excel, SAP, PLM Systems, BOM Management Systems, Access, QuickBase, Matlab, JMP is a big plus.
