Position: Civil Engineer

Location: Libertyville, IL

Salary: $56,840.00-$63,787.50

Job Summary: The general function of this position will be to preform work of considerable difficulty in directing and performing a variety of complex engineering assignments. This position is responsible for preforming technical work in connection with the investigation, planning, design, construction and maintenance of various aspects of Public Works infrastructure improvements. The position is under general direction and supervision may be exercised over contractors.

The Civil Engineer must have good communication skills, knowledge of organizing project documentation, the ability to review pay estimates, inspection of contractors, scheduling and conducting meetings, gathering, organizing, and analyzing data or information related to the assigned projects. You will have endless opportunities to impact and make a difference within Lake County. Being able to build working relationships with employees, 30 countywide departments and the public, is sure to keep you interested and continuously learning.

To be successful in this role you should have a bachelor degree in Civil, Environmental, Construction or Municipal Engineering and 0 to 5 years of related experience. Previous internships or knowledge related to Public Works, underground construction, or consulting engineering a plus. You must possess an EIT Certificate and intend to pursue PE certification. You must also possess a valid Driver's License, supplemented by a satisfactory driving record
