Job Description

Positions Available at Lady of the Sea 

• Full Time Home Health Registered Nurse

Purpose:

The Patient Care Coordinator shall be a Registered nurse whose primary function is the overall management of individual patient care. In accordance with the physician's orders, as well as patient needs, he/she does an assessment, assists in developing plans of care, provides intermittent skilled nursing care, and coordinates the different services. Position will assist in managing patient calls, MD orders and plan visits.

Qualifications:

  1. Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the State of Louisiana.
  2. Minimum of one year of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse.
  3. Able to work on-call, evening and weekends.
  4. Certified in (CPR) cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  5. Valid Louisiana driver's license.
  6. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
  7. Possesses positive customer service skills.

Working Conditions:

  1. Employee will be lifting and carrying up to 25% of the day.
  2. Employee will be sitting 5% of the day.
  3. Employee will be standing and walking 35% of the day.
  4. Employee will be twisting, climbing, kneeling, stooping, and bending 5% of the day.
  5. Employee will be reaching at or above shoulder level 5% of the day.
  6. Employee will be driving 25% of the day.

• PRN/Flexible Emergency Registered Nurse

Purpose:

Utilizing the nursing process, the Registered Nurse is accountable for delivery of patient care to patients of all ages on the unit during the shift. The RN is responsible for meeting the established Standards of Nursing Care, managing assigned personnel, and promoting collaboration among the disciplines.

Qualifications:

  1. Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Louisiana.
  2. One year recent acute nursing experience preferred.
  3. Certified in ACLS and PALS, or obtain certification during orientation period.
  4. Demonstrate skill in written and oral communication.
  5. Able to work all shifts.
  6. Certified in CPR.
  7. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  8. Possesses positive customer service skills.

Working Conditions:

  1. Employee will be lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds approximately 5% of the day.
  2. Employee will be sitting approximately 15% of the day.
  3. Employee will be standing and walking approximately 60% of the day.
  4. Employee will be pushing and pulling approximately 10% of the day.
  5. Employee will be twisting, climbing, kneeling, stooping, and bending approximately 5% of the day.
  6. Employee will be reaching at or above shoulder level approximately 5% of the day.

• Flexible Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse

Purpose:

Utilizing the nursing process, the Staff Registered Nurse is accountable for delivery of patient care to patients of all ages on the unit during the shift. The Staff Nurse is responsible for: meeting the established Standards of Nursing Care, managing assigned personnel, and promoting collaboration among the disciplines.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Louisiana.
  • Able to work all shifts.
  • Certified in (CPR) cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Possesses positive customer service skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Employee will be lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds approximately 5% of the day.
  • Employee will be sitting approximately 15% of the day.
  • Employee will be standing and walking approximately 60% of the day.
  • Employee will be pushing and pulling approximately 10% of the day.
  • Employee will be twisting, climbing, kneeling, stooping, and bending approximately 5% of the day.
