Job Description

As anAutonomous Sensing Software Engineer at L3 ASV you will:

* Designing,implementing, and maintaining high-performance C code in a Linux environment.

* Fusingdata from multiple sensors to create a consistent model of the state of theworld.

* Using fused data toidentify, track, and predict contacts around us.
* Using sensor data to performreal time localization.
* Processing noisy data usingtechniques such as Kalman filters or particle filters
* Researching and staying upto date with the state-of-the-art in sensor processing techniques

Furthermore, our software stack includes software development in modernC on Red Hat-family Linux. We use Confluence and JIRA for project management,Mercurial for version control, Jenkins for continuous integration, and ReviewBoard for code review. Experience with any of these tools is a plus.

L3 ASV isseeking an Autonomous Sensing Software Engineer with experience developingalgorithms for real-time sensor processing. Our vessels are equipped with avariety of sensors from LIDARS to HD cameras. You will join the teamresponsible for improving our sensing capabilities. You will write real timecode to process and fuse data from multiple sensors to get an accurate andconsistent representation of the state of the world. This involves sensorfusion, segmentation, tracking, and prediction of contacts, as well aslocalization for our own ship.

Your work willdirectly affect the overall performance and safety of our vessels and thosearound us. This position requires use of information, which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

In addition, applicants should meet the following requirements:

* Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering or related degree
* Experience with sensor processing and real-time sensor fusion
* Familiarity with different types of sensors and how to use their data most effectively
* A passion for solving challenging problems in the field of robotics
* Computer science theory and practice, either through a suitable degree or sufficient experience
* Familiarity with working in a Linux environment
* Willingness to travel offshore or internationally to provide support, testing, and integration with hardware
* Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a US Secret Clearance
