Job Description

Marks Design, an sgsco company, needs an AWESOME Project Manager at our Woonsocket location!

WHO WE ARE:

Marks IS brand design. In a heartbeat, Marks can deploy a talent pool skilled in the science and art of creative adaptive design, and work with clients and design agency partners to seamlessly develop artwork to any scale.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

You'll wear many hats, but a day in life generally includes:

Being a project management pro.

* Attends briefings and design presentations with Account Manager, participating to ensure positive client relations, and performing as an information source.
* Quarterback the budget and advises the Account Manager if the estimate requires adjustments.
* Writes and briefs all projects into the studio.
* Develops and manages timelines on all projects, tracking/reporting on time delivery or alterations of the timeline to the key stakeholders.
* Manages circulation, following up on all jobs that are out for approval to process approvals in a timely fashion.
* Maintains a project status report. Attends/holds weekly status meetings as required.
* Manages photography bookings and ensures the correct staffing, assets and products are on hand for photoshoot.
* Enters requisitions and coordinates outside services as required for the Design Team (ie illustration).
* Acts as central liaison point between Onsites, Marketing, and the Studio Teams in all matters during project execution.
* Acts as liaison with Marks./SGS and internal production managers to identify resources/requirements for upcoming projects.
* Manages 3D requests when required.

Keeping a close eye on production.

* Reviews and validates mandatory project information required prior to project kick-off.
* Verifies information is accurate on design briefs, layouts, and specifications received from the Onsite and/or client.
* Gathers dielines, copy, packaging specs and reference materials to complete Design. Places all documents within the assigned folder structure on the server.
* Works in a project management tool to download information from client and writes up project into job information system, uploads pdfs into project management tool and routes with client.
* Provides accurate and clear briefing to the Studio in a timely fashion in partnership with the Account Manager.
* Acts as a liaison between the studio and the client to obtain missing information and materials.
* Attends art turnover meetings with Production art/Prepress.
* Writes up revisions once consolidated by Onsite and/or client.
* Attends technical review of projects via pre-pro meetings, in consultation with PA/PP department, and/or SGS and print supplier.

Controlling quality like no one's business.

* Checks all design files to ensure work has been executed to the client brief prior to releasing artwork for approval.
* Attends photoshoots when required.

Getting us paid!

* Gathers and preps all dockets that are ready to bill.
* Reconciles bills of lading, expediting charges and client alterations.
* Calculates accurate price quotes for jobs using client price guide.

WHAT KIND OF SKILLS SHOULD YOU HAVE?

The obviously qualities: Flexible, Friendly, Dedicated and…

* Completion of post-secondary university or college degree, preferably in graphics communication management and/or design or similar.
* 3-5 years proven experience in client service, preferably in a packaging environment.
* Strong understanding of Packaging Design requirements.
* Strong understanding of Flexo, Litho and gravure printing processes.
* Strong knowledge of job costing and order entry systems
* Excellent organizational and time management skills.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Proven client service skills and ability to deal effectively with difficult client situations.
* Ability to multi-task in high-pressure situations.
* Ability to work with minimal supervision.
