Bankruptcy Legal Assistant

Knight & Hooper, PLLC, a debt collection law firm located in Chattanooga TN, is seeking a motivated and self-driven Bankruptcy Legal Assistant to join their team. This is a fast-paced and detail-oriented position that focuses on creditor bankruptcy matters.

This is a full-time, in-office position 8:30am to 5pm Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities:

· Critically analyze and interpret legal documents

· Professionally communicate with clients

· Make attorney-requested edits as needed

· Manage caseload via company software

· Update client profiles at multiple data points

· Ensure assigned cases follow proper procedures

· Prioritize caseload to manage deadlines

· Drafting documents, filing Motions, Claims, and Notices

· Conducting legal research, creating files

· Familiarity with the Pacer Federal Electronic Records system and Electronic Case Files (ECF) system would be beneficial.

· Other Duties as assigned.

Applicant Requirements:

· High School Diploma or GED

· Experience drafting legal documents

· Intermediate skills in Microsoft word and Outlook

· Able to multi-task and focus on several cases at one time

· Strong attention to detail

· Able to work independently

· Experience filing with courts, and e-filing

· A strong sense of accountability and executing assignments at the highest level.
