We have an exciting an opportunity for an Accountant I to join our Corporate Accounting team, which serves to ensure that financial information is accurately reflected in the general ledger and sub-ledgers and maintain order and transparency of the company's financial statements. We're seeking a candidate who approaches problems with curiosity and exhibits a desire to learn and grow.

When you join our team as an Accountant I you will:

* Perform accounting functions necessary to achieve an accurate and timely general ledger period-end close
* Prepare journal entries
* Review and analyze financial statement variances
* Reconcile balance sheet accounts
* Research and respond to P&L questions
* Perform monthly administration of financial close software. Explore opportunities to leverage additional software features.
* Special projects
* Comply with internal controls to protect the assets of the company
* Perform self-review of work to identify problems and solutions
* Develop, document, implement, and execute processes and procedures. Proactively improve processes, accuracy and efficiency.
* Ability to function effectively within a team environment and to work effectively with personnel from other departments
* Deadline oriented function that requires overtime as necessary

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience:

* A four-year college degree in Accounting
* Understanding of U.S. GAAP and ability to perform technical research and analysis
* Experience with MS Excel
* Detail oriented
* Ability to resolve issues and make recommendations
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
