Afterschool Program Positions Share your passion for health, nutrition, and physical activity with children in grades K-5. Part-time $12-20 an hour

Program Overview and Job Summary:

The KSS Afterschool Program implements the CATCH (Coordinated Approach to Child Health) curriculum afterschool at all six elementary schools in Summit County. This program is designed to promote healthy physical activity and eating behaviors in children. It aims to equip children with the knowledge and skills to make healthy decisions, all while having fun. Each day a healthy snack is served and the children participate in a nutrition lesson followed by exercises, sports-related skills practice, and non-elimination games. The program is grant-funded through partnerships with community organizations.

The Afterschool Program Coordinator is responsible for completion of administrative tasks, program facilitation of the CATCH curriculum, and teaching students about health and exercise. Administrative tasks include: prepping and planning daily snack and nutrition lessons, planning objective focused activities and games, conducting parent and student surveys and assessments, communicating with parents and families, distributing bi-weekly newsletters, tracking class attendance, and managing on-site registrations.
