Business Analyst


The Finance department within KARL STORZ Endoscopy-America, Inc. (KSEA) has launched an initiative toward continuous improvement and efficiency. Some elements of this initiative are grass roots in nature, and others are strategic. Many of the elements will require significant problem solving, technology, outside expertise and other solutions which should be created, analyzed and documented professionally to improve the quality of long-term results.


The Business Analyst will serve as a member of the Value Delivery Office based in El Segundo, CA. He/she reports to the Associate Director, Value Delivery Office, and is responsible for seeking out, developing and working with project management to implement solutions that improve process maturity, efficiency and productivity.

To be successful, this individual must:

* Demonstrate significant capability for problem solving and understanding complex business systems.
* Facilitate the development, implementation and operation of practical, scalable solutions.
* Leverage external best practices by staying current with industry best practices & technology
* Work closely with project managers to develop future state vision, requirements, use cases and test scenarios
* Drive identification of requirements across business units, including upstream and downstream impacts.
* Contribute to business case development especially in the areas of success criteria and financial benefit estimation.

* Create workflows, process maps and other diagrams as necessary to understand, communicate and manage processes and systems.
* Create KPIs and other metrics to measure the performance of processes and solutions.
* Conduct insightful ad hoc analysis to investigate ongoing or one-time operational issues

* Develop meaningful and lasting relationships with partners for optimized systems integration, including internal IT and external vendors.
* Serve as thought leader for technical business processes, developing forward-thinking systems prototypes that align with organizational strategy.
* Apply technical experience and expertise to ensure success of complex software and technology projects
* Thrive in a dynamic, fast paced environment with multiple, simultaneous and fluid priorities
* Successfully navigate the KARL STORZ organization and culture locally, as well as globally


* BS/BA in appropriate field of study required, masters preferred
* 5+ years relevant work experience required including complex software projects
* Strong communication skills, ability to influence decision makers
* Proven analytical background, professional certification in business analysis is preferred (IIBA)
* Practical experience generating process documentation and reports
* Experience working with MS Excel & Visio required
* Healthcare, medical device or a related industry experience preferred
* Experience with software design, functional SAP supply chain experience is preferred.
