KP Cyber Security is seeking an Intern to join a team responsible for design, engineering and operational support of critical Data Protection infrastructure and services. Primary responsibilities will include working several internal subject matter experts to continuously enhance system capabilities and support new business initiatives and processes. Qualified candidates will have a desire in business process development, operations, information security, and systems management.

 

Job Role:
The Data Protection Intern will support the Data Protection team efforts related to analysis, tracking, and validation of the effectiveness of advanced security technologies critical to Cyber Security service delivery.  The Intern will gain experience related to the protection of Patient Health Information (PHI) and how the tools deployed protect against the potential loss of data. The Intern will have an opportunity to engage several groups across the organization such as Security Operations, and National Compliance.

 

Primary work will be with the output from Industry leading Data Loss Prevention (DLP) systems. Day to day work will include Maintaining metrics reports, analysis of DLP incidents determine false/true positive accuracy, and working with supporting teams on potential enhancements to inspection policies.

 

Secondary work may include supporting operations for file encryption services; this activity may include direct business partner engagement to provide support, provision new users, and monitor health of the system(s).

 Passionate about improving business processes by leveraging technology and automation

 Technology troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

 

Preferred Qualifications:
3.0 GPA or above
 Technology troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Proven ability to build effective working relationships as well as strong interpersonal skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to learn quickly and experience producing high quality work in short periods of time.
