Department Overview:
Our department, HIT Transformation and Analytics, is a national analytic & consulting group that partners with National and regional strategic, quality and operations leaders to optimize front-line and back-end use of KP HealthConnect(KP's EHR system) in conjunction with our patient portal (KP.org) in pursuit of KPs quality, service and affordability goals, to improve quality of care, health outcomes and experience for our members and patients.

Our expertise and focus extend to:
Partnering with the regions and national organizations such as KPIT and CMI(KP's Care Management Institute) to leverage KP's investment in HIT and understand the impact of practices and innovations underway across the Program, and how to spread leading practices effectively and measurably.
Identifying and encouraging the spread of successful practices and technical solutions across KP regions
Enhancing KPs national reputation as a leader in health information technology through analytics and evaluation, reporting, publications, Meaningful Use participation, experience informing and supporting inter-regional, HIT-driven practices, and external presentations sharing our work and how it aligns with KP's strategic goals.

Intern Project Summary
Primarily assist with organizing and facilitating discussions including senior executive, physician and analytics leaders as part of a large-scale and high-profile initiative involving multiple stakeholder, national and regional, to coordinate analytics efforts across the KP Program and its 7 regions.
Develop tools, documents, project plans, framework, implementation plans for mid to moderate sized program-wide projects. 
 Support Executive Director in creating materials, tools, for meetings with regions and departments to establish effective working relationships. 
Identify and assists with facilitation of sharing of best practices across the program pertaining to value realization and business strategy support and optimization.

Essential Functions:

Contributing to a designated project or initiative to meet a KP business objective.

Report development and analytics.

Project management - planning, execution, and measurement.

Learning new applications needed to complete assignments or support the execution of business objectives.

Job shadowing in other functional areas.

Performing additional duties as required.

Additional Functions:
Provide analytic support for other strategic projects as assigned.
Demonstrates ability to take independent action after receiving overall direction and guidance for goals and objectives. Once overall strategy, tactical design and direction for project are shared, is able to operate independently with fairly broad limits Has sound knowledge of when to escalate issues and ask questions.
Establishes high level of credibility with customers, stakeholders and co-workers
Effectively communicates project plans, status, issues, outcomes
Work is reviewed by Executive Director for assignments, key milestones, and escalation of issues and completion of objectives.
