Department Overview:
National Medicare Finance (NMF) handles all aspects of the Medicare line of business for the entire Kaiser Permanente program. Medicare revenues account for approximately 33% of Kaisers program-wide revenues. Various teams within NMF handle the Accounting, bids, risk adjustments, forecast and analysis, SOX and audits.
Intern Project:
The Intern will assist primarily with NMF Accounting month-end and quarter-end close, as well as SOX and Audit activities. S/he will also assist other teams; e.g., the Payment Analysis/MBE team, or the Analytical Services team on an as needed basis. Financial data entry and analysis, and Internal SOX Monitoring including testing, inquiring, and finding opportunities for enhancement will be a majority of the assignment.

Contributing to a designated project or initiative to meet a KP business objective.
Report development and analytics.
Project management - planning, execution, and measurement.
Learning new applications needed to complete assignments or support the execution of business objectives.
Job shadowing in other functional areas.
