Financial Intern IMG Finance
 
The Financial Intern for Infrastructure Management Group is a client-facing role responsible for IT finance processes.  This individual will provide financial analysis to ensure that clients' needs are met accurately, and in a timely and professional manner.  This intern will gain experience in data analysis, financial consolidation, financial reporting and metrics.  Specific project work can vary from business case analysis to labor studies.  Varied assignments will allow the intern to gain a strong working knowledge of the financial processes Infrastructure Management Group
 
Essential Functions:
Be a change agent for process improvement.  Create standardized processes and metrics to track improvement.
 Analyze month-end financial results, provide variance analysis, research and resolve financial irregularities, and ensure transparency.
 Review and execute the current processes to transfer expenses or record metrics for a set of programs or departments.
Prepare Ad hoc analysis and reporting.
 Provide reporting on performance metrics, measurements, methods, and targets; assist in identifying performance improvement opportunities. In addition, provide ongoing recommendations on the use and interpretation of analysis, reports, methodologies, systems and source data, acting as a significant information resource.
 Partner with Finance counterparts in all organizations to improve financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes.

High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
Pursuing a bachelor's degree or have graduated with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university within the last year in in Finance, Accounting or related field.

Current enrollment in a graduate degree program in finance, accounting or business administration

 Knowledge and understanding of accounting rules and practices required.

 Excellent demonstrated interpersonal and teamwork skills.

 Strong communication skills (written and verbal).

 Experience creating and preparing presentations to various levels of management.

 Proven initiative and self-directed style.

 Proficiency with MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 Previous Finance experience in budgeting/forecasting and long range planning. 

 2 years of related experience including the ability to demonstrate experience analyzing, modeling, and forecasting financial data.

 2 years of experience with process development and continuous process improvement.

 Working knowledge of Cognos, Business Objects, SAP, or Hyperion.

 Previous work in an IT organization

Aptitude to perform data and process analytics and formulating solutions
Proven ability to build effective working relationships as well as strong interpersonal skills
Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
3.0 GPA or above
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
Proven ability to build effective working relationships as well as strong interpersonal skills

Ability to learn quickly and experience producing high quality work in short periods of time.
