Job Description

Software Engineering Jersey City, NJ. Define project architecture & participate in both high- & low-level design & implementation of a desktop-like single-page web application.

Responsible for technical architecture design, application and systems development, and software testing to ensure compatibility with enterprise and solutions architecture. Liaise with global business and technology counterparts across lines of business (LOBs) during requirements gathering, development, testing, implementation, and post-production phases.

Minimum education and experience required: This position requires a 3-year or a 4-year Bachelor's degree in Information Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field of study plus four (4) years of experience in the job offered or four (4) years of experience as Software/Application Developer, IT Consultant, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Master’s degree plus two (2) years of experience in lieu of a 3-year or a 4-year Bachelor’s degree plus four (4) years of experience.

Skills Required: This position requires two (2) years of experience with the following skills: performing systems development of unified risk management platforms; supporting front-office applications; financial engineering; risk and regulatory systems and data flows; developing Python and C++; Pandas; NumPy; at least one web framework such as Flask, CherryPy, or Tornado; working on shell scripts in Linux or Unix environments; web development using a client-side framework such as Javascript, JQuery, React, ExtJS, CSS3 or HTML; object and relational databases; networking protocols including HTTP and HTTPS; server and system memory optimization techniques; defining large scale software application architecture; object-oriented development; and software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes including spanning requirements, defect tracking, identifying and resolving technical issues, source control, build automation, test automation, and release management.
