The Legal Department of JPMorgan Chase & Co is responsible for the provision of legal services to the Corporation and is organized by practice groups that generally align with the Corporation's lines of business and corporate staff areas. This structure encourages legal teams and businesses and staff areas to discuss legal, regulatory and business developments effectively and in a timely manner.

Chase Business Banking provides deposit, credit and cash management services to 2.5 million customers through about 2,000 Business Relationship Managers and 10,000 branch-based Small Business Specialists in 23 states. Chase provides these services through branch, phone and Internet channels.

This position will be an integral member of the legal team that supports Business Banking. The successful candidate will work directly with and be supervised by Business Banking lawyers supporting loan centers (closers and underwriters) and customer-facing bankers with respect to small business lending and deposit transactions and will also interact with other Business Banking groups (Customer On-boarding, Operations, Customer Experience, Product Marketing, Digital, Risk, and Compliance) and other legal colleagues on a regular basis.

Paralegals and documentation specialists with general banking, contract review and drafting, lending and/or real estate experience are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities will include:

* Providing transactional and other paralegal support to Business Banking lawyers, including preparation of draft loan documents, letters to customers, and internal communications and presentations.
* Researching regulatory issues and monitoring state law developments in connection with the review and response to issues related to deposit accounts and cash management products.
* Reviewing and responding to customer service escalations and complaints.
* Maintaining and updating forms.
* Partnering with lawyers in Business Banking and other lines of business to support large scale projects and initiatives.

Qualifications:

* 4-year undergraduate degree (preferred); minimum of 2-year associates degree (required)
* Experience in a law firm or in-house legal department
* Detail oriented and organized; able to handle multiple assignments and competing priorities in a fast paced, high profile and rapidly evolving environment
* Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills
* Ability to work independently when interacting with larger groups on projects
* Professional attitude and ability to exercise judgment and adhere to policy guidelines
* Proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel and/or Adobe Pro would be a plus
* Knowledge of credit, deposit account and product documentation and/or federal laws and regulations pertaining to banks would be a plus
