Job Description

Johnson Matthey, a global leader in specialty chemicals with core skills in catalysis, precious metals, fine chemicals and process technology, has an opportunity available at our Smithfield location.

Line Technician- Duties include loading, boxing, packaging, labeling, inspection, and other associated tasks. Minimum requirements are High School Diploma or equivalent with 1-2 years experience in manufacturing preferred. Must have good communication skills and be able to work as a member of a team. Candidates must be able to work 12 hour night shifts on a 2-2-3 pattern.

Electronics Controls Technician- is accountable for monitoring the Automation Control System operation of the production line. Position requires specific emphasis on obtaining maximum equipment utilization and production efficiency. Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, IT, or Computer Science required along with 1-3 years related experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Knowledge of PLC programming and Graphic Interface Software and how it relates to the design and control of automated equipment is required. Candidates must be able to work 12 hour night shifts on a 2-2-3 pattern.

EH&S Engineer- reports into the EH&S Manager and supports site efforts for safety, health, medical and environmental issues and ensures compliance to all applicable federal, state and local safety, health and environmental regulations. This position interacts with government agencies with environmental permitting and regulatory compliance including EPA, PA Dept. of Labor & Industry and PA DEP. In addition, this person will assist in risk assessments with all departments, ensure that all applicable federal, state and local regulations. Familiarity of industrial standards ANSI, NFPA and ACGIH and knowledge of CAA, CWA, RCRA, DOT and OSHA regulations required. Education requirements include a BS degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering or similar engineering science. 3 years occupational safety, industrial hygiene, or environmental experience, preferably in the chemicals manufacturing. Previous experience in ISO14001 preferred.
