Job Description

JCCC is searching to fill an open Assistant Professor, Game Development position. This position requires expertise in art and design. The selected candidate will teach 15 credit hours per semester in Game Development. Additional responsibilities will be to perform other duties expected of full-time faculty, including maintaining scheduled office hours; developing and revising curriculum; training faculty in new curriculum as needed; developing and implementing course and program assessment of student learning outcomes; developing and maintaining relationships with industry and academic partners; participating in college, division, and department meetings; serving on committees; and other duties as assigned. Teaching assignments could be any combination of face to face (day or evening), hybrid or online, and are subject to change as needed.

Required Skills

* Bachelors degree in computer science or related field
* Knowledge in Unity, Unreal or similar game engines
* Experience with game development
* Expert knowledge in Autodesk Maya modeling characters, game assets and environments
* Understand the importance to adapt to the changing landscape of higher education
* Comfortable collaborating with faculty and students from other disciplines as well as with industry and community partners

Required Experience

* Experience in Substance painter and Photoshop creating textures for game props, characters and environments
* Experience creating character, and game prop animations
* Experience in Marmoset tool bag for portfolio rendering and animation

Preferred Experience

* Teaching/training experience
* Experience developing teaching/training content
* Experience with motion capture systems
