Job Description

What you will do

Johnson Controls invites you to apply for a position in our internship program with the SAP COE AMS department, based at JCI Global Corporate Headquarters in Glendale, WI. Our internship program is designed to provide you with a positive work/training experience and challenging objectives that are consistent with your career goals and current level of education.

Johnson Controls SAP COE AMS contains approximately 120 professionals that resolve the incidents and service requests in the areas of SAP systems pertaining to BT&S, PS NA, PS EMEA, Tyco and Corp. In addition, Team has responsibility of Audit and compliance checks and balances for SAP.

As a member of the SAP COE AMS department, the Analytics Intern will be responsible for assisting members of SAP AMS in the development and execution of analytics on AMS Incidents and Service requests. The Analytics Intern will be part of the team responsible for transforming the service now reporting approach with a greater emphasis on the use of data analytics and visualization. The internship can start as early as May 2019, approximately 20 hours during the semester and full-time (40 hours) during the summer.

How you will do it

* Understand and develop data analytic testing to support SAP COE AMS objectives
* Develop an understanding of and gain access to data sources relevant to assigned Service now incidents and Service requests
* Performing analyses on audit testing of controls supporting audit objectives
* Leverage tools and techniques to enhance data analytics testing pertaining to SAP COE AMS
* Generating ad-hoc data extract requests
* Engage Operation manager around use of analytics for AMS efficiency and effectiveness
* Report - Develop data visualization, dashboards insights and recommendations based on data analytics results
* Support continuous improvement teams in creating automated tools, templates, and other means of increasing efficiency and productivity
* Perform other duties as assigned

Note: This internship is year round requiring approximately 20 hours/week during the semester and full time during the summer. Qualified applicants must be available during the semester and be in a communicable distance from our Glendale, WI office.

What we look for

Required Qualifications:

* Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university
* Currently pursuing an undergraduate (junior standing) or first year in a Master's degree, in Business Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or related discipline
* Located in the Milwaukee area or in a commutable distance from our Glendale, WI office.
* Available to work 20 hours per week during the semester.
* Strong communication and organizational skills
* U.S. Citizen or legal right to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience or strong desire to gain experience working with Oracle EBS and SAP data models
* Experience or strong desire to gain experience with report writing and data extraction using MS and Oracle SQL, ACL, Power BI or other report writing tools
* Strong technical proficiency in MS Excel, Access, and SharePoint
* Experience or strong desire to gain experience using data analysis techniques to acquire, transform, and translate large and complex datasets to identify trends, risks, outliers, and unexpected patterns
* Ability to work effectively in a highly energetic and multiple-engagement environment, dedication to teamwork, a strong work initiative, and the ability to adapt to new challenges and ideas
