Title: Marketing Construction & Forestry Field Representative Program - Full-Time 2017c - 31423
Your Responsibilities
The 2017 Construction & Forestry Field Representative Development Program prepares candidates for significant roles in John Deere's Equipment divisions through varied work experiences. This includes exposure to marketing, products, competition, and many other aspects of John Deere marketing. Additional training includes traveling with field managers and interaction with the dealer channel. This position may lead to future jobs, such as Territory Sales Manager, District Manager, Tactical Marketing Manager and Commercial Development Manager.
Develop employees who can later work as territory managers or in other field-based roles. John Deere provides program participants with work and educational experiences that will help them quickly learn the business while building a strong professional network. The 15-18 month long program features three rotational assignments within a variety of Construction & Forestry departments.

Marketing and Marketing Services Examples
- Tactical Marketing/Pricing & Incentives: Develop tactical marketing plans for various customer segments, analyze dealer incentive optimization and benchmark tactical programs
- Product Marketing: Help conduct customer focus groups (CAGs), analyze product sales by specific market segments, research market opportunities
Product Examples
- Training Center: Create product comparison bulletins, develop and deliver dealer training, assist at Spring Training event
Channel Examples
- Sales Division: Work with territory sales manager to develop plans for boosting sales in a specific geography or customer segment, analyze dealer sales performance
- Corporate Business Development: Survey customers on purchase experiences, plan and support customer events
Post-Program Placement
Representatives are selected for roles which best fit their skills, experiences and business opportunities. Recent positions include Assistant Territory Sales Manager, Training Instructor, Sales/Market Analyst and Project Manager. Willingness to relocate and travel for future field-based opportunities is required.
Skills You Will Need
- Typical Degrees: Business, Economics, Marketing, Finance, Construction Management
- GPA: 2.8 minimum, 3.0 or higher preferred
- Demonstrated leadership and teamwork; must be willing to travel more than 50% and be willing to relocate. Flexibility, capacity to learn and willingness to take on new assignments is required.
- Possess a valid U.S. driver’s license and have the ability to legal rent a car.
- Additional language skills and/or international experiences preferred (esp. Spanish, Portuguese)
- We have locations across the United Stated so you must be willing to relocate domestically.
