About John Deere

Company Description

John Deere is a world leader in providing advanced products and services and is committed to the success of customers whose work is linked to the land - those who cultivate, harvest, transform, enrich and build upon the land to meet the world's dramatically increasing need for food, fuel, shelter and infrastructure. Since 1837, John Deere has delivered innovative products of superior quality built on a tradition of integrity. The company sells products in more than 130 countries and employs more than 54,000 people.

Company History

Today, Deere & Company is one of the world's most admired businesses. But in 1837, John Deere, blacksmith and inventor, had little more than a blacksmith shop, a discarded steel saw, and an idea that would help farmers, changing the face of agriculture for all time.

Mission & Values

Founded in 1837 by John Deere, a blacksmith and inventor, Deere & Company has grown into one of the world's most admired businesses. This was no accident. John Deere was determined to build his business based on integrity, quality, commitment and innovation. Those values live on and thrive today. They determine the way we work, the quality we offer, and the unsurpassed treatment you get as a customer, investor, employee.

How we work:
It may be an understatement to say that we work every day to uphold our founder's core values. Because integrity, quality, commitment, innovation are not ideals we work towards. We live them. We breathe them. These values are the true essence of how we work and are in every product, service, and opportunity we offer you.

In addition, John Deere understands the value of a diverse workforce, dealer organization, and supplier base. We are truly dedicated to an inclusive environment where diversity is understood and welcomed. It's a commitment we see shared with and within all stakeholders at John Deere: from employees to dealers to suppliers.

Where we work:
Worldwide. Wherever people work on or with the land, that's where you'll find a John Deere presence.

What we offer:
Our founder was best known for his work with the first commercially successful plow. And so it is today that we're perhaps best known for our quality agricultural and turf equipment. The world’s leading manufacturer of farm equipment, as a matter of fact. We also take the lead worldwide in building forestry equipment. We're a major force in construction equipment. And John Deere Financial is one of the largest equipment finance companies. Not bad for a start-up company housed in a blacksmith shop.

What you can expect:
You might expect John Deere to have the highest ethics, rigorous regulatory compliance, and the deepest desire to develop and promote fairness in public policies and practices. You would be right on all accounts. And if you have a relationship with John Deere – as a customer, employee, dealer, or supplier – you would expect Deere to offer an inclusive environment. One that would welcome diversity. You would be right again.

Working Here

At John Deere, there are over 50,000 people who have taken the leap. The leap to achievement. The leap to learning. The leap to high-performance teamwork. The leap to being valued as a contributor, an employee, a person. These are John Deere employees who, today, help develop, produce, market, and support quality machinery and services worldwide. They understand and embrace the core values of integrity, quality, commitment, and innovation. And they are rewarded.

College Opportunities

Fresh out of college or wondering what comes next after high school?  You can feel great about your work – and where you work. At John Deere, it’s all about interacting with peers, sharing your skills, pushing your potential, and feeling satisfied. We’re always looking for smart, talented, and skilled people to join us. So go ahead, take the leap. Apply Today!

Benefits

Working at John Deere is a great feeling. You connect with other highly talented employees. You're part of a company that recognizes and embraces diversity and inclusion. You have a role in producing the highest quality products and services. And you know that Deere is committed to being a great corporate citizen of the world. But more, you are recognized and rewarded for your contributions.
