Intern Talent Acquisition (Flight Ops)

Position Summary

The JetBlue Emerging Talent (JET) internship program provides skill & professional development through participation in the developing real-world business solutions that support the delivery of strategic business initiatives. Throughout the program, interns participate in a robust programming including professional development activities, cross-functional projects, senior leader exposure, networking, and community service. The JET Program provides interns the opportunity to immerse themselves into the aviation industry while developing specific career interest or areas of study.

The Intern Talent Acquisition is responsible for providing support to JetBlue Talent Acquisition team. The Intern will coordinate and be responsible for all administrative duties as assigned. The Intern will work on special projects such as reports, research and data gathering and similar projects. The Intern must be comfortable working in a fast paced, non-routine work environment and is an engaging professional whose personal values match JetBlue's values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun.

Essential Responsibilities

* Provide overall administrative and project support to the Manager Talent Acquisition, including scheduling, drafting communications, calendaring and preparing materials (e.g. calendar, binders, newsletter, etc.)
* Create and maintain spreadsheets, charts, and information regarding metrics
* Conduct research, compile data, and prepare materials for consideration and draft presentations that explain various types of data
* Support the Talent Acquisition team by conducting phone screens, qualification reviews, background research and interviews for potential internal/external candidates
* Represent the Talent Acquisition team at recruiting events
* Support Pilot Hiring programs including application processing, qualification screening, interviewing, background investigation and compliance
* Other administrative functions as needed such as attend meetings to record minutes, make travel arrangements, greet visitors, perform general office duties such as ordering supplies and maintaining records
* Assist with ad hoc requests as needed

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

* Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited college or university in related field
* Knowledge of SharePoint, Outlook and Microsoft Office
* Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and diplomacy
* Ability to be flexible, multi-task, prioritize, and manage multiple activities simultaneously in a fast-paced, changing environment
* Strong attention to detail
* Effective written, verbal and presentation skills
* Experience organizing/coordinating projects while providing exceptional customer service
* Available for travel overnight travel at least twice a month ( up to 20%,)
* In possession of valid travel documents with the ability to travel in and out of the United States
* Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
* Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

* One (1) year Business and/or Human Resources experience
* Experience with Recruiting Management/Applicant Tracking Systems
* Experience in formal communications
* Experience in Recruiting
* Experience working in a fast-paced environment in a matrix structure
* Experience in a technical or operational department i.e. Flight Operations
* Experience in analysis and metrics development
* Organizing/coordinating multiple projects & ability to multi-task
* Providing exceptional administrative assistance

* Regular attendance and punctuality
* Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
* Well-groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance
* When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
* Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun
* Promote JetBlue's #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue's Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards
* Identify safety concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue's confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report(SAR))

About JetBlue Airways

JetBlue Airways Corporation (JetBlue) is a passenger airline that provides customer service primarily on point-to-point routes. During the year ended December 31, 2008, the Company served 52 destinations in 19 states, Puerto Rico, and five countries in the Caribbean and Latin America, and operated over 600 flights a day with a fleet of 107 Airbus A320 aircraft and 35 EMBRAER 190 aircraft.
