Social Innovation Fellowship - Program Intern

The Social Innovation Fellowship is seeking for an energetic and responsible college student to serve as the program intern for the 2019-2020 academic year. The position mixes teen programming with entrepreneurship, Judaism and Israel travel. The position serves as a platform to exercise leadership qualities and acquire hands-on professional experience while supporting the Social Innovation Fellowship. Candidates should have an interest in business or entrepreneurship and knowledge in Judaism, as well as excitement for working with and inspiring high-school aged teens.

The Fellowship:

The Social Innovation Fellowship is a nine-month entrepreneurship program open to Jewish high school students in Baltimore aiming to empower the next generation of changemakers. SIF is a program by 4Front, Baltimore's Jewish teen engagement initiative located in Owings Mills, MD. Program components include an overnight innovation boot camp in August, monthly Sunday workshops, Demo Day pitch presentations, and a 10-day trip to Israel over winter break.

Responsibilities:

The role of the program intern is to serve as a second supporting staff to the program director in the planning and implementation of program components.

* Weekly meetings with the program director to assist in the planning of program workshops and events. Meeting schedule to be determined, based on intern's academic schedule.
* Attendance and assistance with all program workshops and events, including the opening overnight innovation boot camp, monthly workshops held on Sunday afternoons, and large scale events in February and May.
* Helping to prepare program supplies for workshops and events.
* Travel to Israel on the Israel Innovation Tour as a second chaperone with the program director.
* Assistance with brainstorming and occasionally leading group activities including ice breakers and discussions.
* Serving as a positive Jewish role model for the teen participants.
* Providing guidance and encouragement to the teen participants throughout the program.

Important Dates:

* Fellowship Calendar: August 2019- May 2020
* Innovation Boot Camp and Retreat: August 22-24, 2019
* Israel Innovation Tour: December 19-30, 2019

Compensation: The program intern will receive a $1,500 stipend for their work over the year.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must be responsible, mature, self-motivated, dedicated and enthusiastic. Candidates must also be enrolled in a college or university near Baltimore, MD.
