JamesHardie Sales Brand Ambassador – Start your Career

 

Revenue $1.6 billion plus and growing | Manufactured in the USA | First year compensation $48-52k

The JH Sales Ambassador Program:

While James Hardie is well known and respected in our industry, many homeowners are not familiar with it, because people only (re)side their homes once or twice in a lifetime.  We are hiring Brand Ambassador Teams in ten markets around the country to increase brand awareness through informing customers about the residential uses of James Hardie products and supporting contractors that use our products by canvassing and generating potential leads. 

 

Position Profile:

Brand Ambassadors spend about 60% of their time canvassing in more upscale neighborhoods where the homes are of an age where they may need to be (re)sided in the near future. In addition to canvassing these neighborhoods, our Brand Ambassadors will do local community events (20%) and retail promotions (20%), everything from setting up at fairs, to doing weekend promotions in Home Depot, to wine festivals, street fairs, and assisting at home shows or other similar events.

 

This is a full time position with a starting base salary of $35,000, ($39k for Boston, $38k for DC) a great bonus plan, full benefits, and comprehensive paid training. Average monthly bonus is about $1k and the average first year income is $48,000-$52,000.  Additionally, JamesHardie is a career oriented company that values promoting from within.  Seventy-five percent of our Brand Ambassadors from last year have already been promoted up within this program, or into other divisions of the company with a traditional Outside Sales role being the most common. Give us 6-8 months and we will give you a career.

 

This is the 5th year of the Ambassador program and due to the success of the program, we have expanded the number of markets every year.  The first year we launched in two markets and this year we are hiring in 10 markets. We use it to bring people into the business, have them learn the company, product, and culture and then offer them an opportunity for advancement in 6-8 months.

While this is a 5-day a week job, the schedule is not a standard M-F role and requires some flexibility. Your typical work week is Tues-Sat or Wed-Sun, and on average, you work both weekend days at least once a month. Typical work hours are 10am – 7pm.  On a standard day, you would meet and have a morning team meeting at your local office from 10 – 10:30am and then head out in the company truck to either canvass, set-up at a retail event, or set-up at a special event.  You would provide your own transportation to the local office, and then head home from there at the end of the day.
