EH&S Manager


As our Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) Manager you will be tasked with many challenging opportunities that will help contribute to the overall growth of the business. This is an exciting time for James Hardie and you could play a large part by providing expertise and counseling for all safety related issues affecting plant operations. You'll be based out of Waxahachie, TX at our manufacturing facility, reporting directly to the Plant Manager. This truly is a position where you can determine your own career success. What's Next?   • Provide direction on improvement strategies and feedback on safety performance to the plant Management Team and Supervisors on an on-going basis
  • Coach and counsel managers in developing the skills necessary to improve crews and managers engagement in the safety process
  • Manage and facilitate the plant's Safety Education Program, as well as build professional relationships that will help promote the overall safety awareness of the facility
  • Ensure compliance with State and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulatory requirements


  • Understand, comply with and effectively communicate state and federal OSHA safety and health regulations, as well as all applicable EPA environmental regulations
  • Knowledge and ability to update safety policies and procedures manuals, as well as conduct and assist with safety-related training
  • Able to effective coach personnel on how to perform audits of job sites, manufacturing, and plant operations
  • Coach personnel on the procedures necessary to thoroughly investigate accidents and develop effective corrective action recommendations
  • Effectively and accurately manage the flow of all required reports and documentation
  • Intermediate skills with personal computer word processing and spreadsheet software (Microsoft Word and Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, and other proprietary software)
  • Sound judgment, problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and deliver sustainable and superior results


Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, or Industrial Hygiene

  • Five or more years of manufacturing experience working as an EH&S professional
  • Experience leading, mentoring and coaching in manufacturing organizations
