Job Summary:

Jacobs Engineering is seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team in Englewood, CO. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be part of a talented team for conventional design and design/build projects for water and wastewater municipal clients. Position will support mid and senior level mechanical engineers in the design of water and wastewater pump stations, treatment facilities/processes for water and wastewater plants, conveyance systems, technical writing, and construction drawing and specification production. * Conduct hydraulic modeling of incompressible and compressible systems using AFT Fathom for water and low-pressure air systems
* Size pumps, pipes, and valves
* Work with equipment vendors for implementation of process equipment for water and wastewater treatment plants.
* Design piping systems, valves, and appurtenances for in-plant process piping (ductile iron, steel, PVC, HDPE, copper, etc.).
* Develop construction drawings and specifications under the supervision of mid and senior level engineers
* Review shop drawings and equipment submittals for conformance with construction documents
* Technical writing including design reports, hydraulic modeling reports, etc.
* Size control valves
* Provide input to development of P&ID's
* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required
* Mechanical design experience with rotating equipment, piping design, and hydraulic modeling is required
* Experience with fwater and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and conveyance systems is preferred
* Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience, with a minimum of one year in water/wastewater systems for municipal or industrial clients required
* PE license or the ability to obtain a PE License within three years is required
* Energetic and excited to learn the Water and Wastewater industry under the supervision on excellent engineers is required
* Construction support services for water and wastewater projects required
* Excellent oral and written communications, self-motivation, team-oriented work practices, and strong data analysis & technical problem-solving skills is required
