Job Description

Summary

The Jackson Laboratory is seeking a summer intern student within our Animal Care Program who is currently enrolled in college. The assignment duration would be mid-May through mid-August with flexibility. We have an internship opportunity available at our Bar Harbor, ME and Ellsworth, ME facilities.

The Jackson Laboratory generously offers daily commuter buses from the Bangor, Ellsworth, and Downeast areas to assist employees with their transportation to and from our facility in Bar Harbor.

Responsibilities

This position will involve handling of materials to help support our mouse production and operations teams. Duties will include:

* Transporting clean and soiled supplies through materials airlock
* Performing all aspects of room sanitation
* Conducting room environmental checks
* Maintaining safe work practices and safety procedures

Qualifications

* Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
* High School Diploma or equivalent
* Currently enrolled in a college degree program
* Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
* Clear communication skills
