Position Summary

This position is exposed to multiple sales and lead generation roles in the company. During this short-term assignment, the associate focuses on learning about the company, products/services and markets and on developing/enhancing specific sales skills. This position is intended to last less than 6 months, after which time successful associates will be placed in another sales position based on individual skills and business needs.


Job Responsibilities

  • Sells products/services to existing and prospective customers as assigned. 
  • Places products/services for follow-up by a Sales Representative. Schedules follow-up appointment for the Sales Representative as appropriate. 
  • Qualifies accounts as needed to determine sales opportunities and identify additional contacts/buyers. If an opportunity is identified for another sales area, takes appropriate action to forward the lead.  
  • Organizes and manages sales leads to capitalize on selling/placement opportunities and ensure all leads are contacted based on the cycle criteria. 
  • Services all customers, internal and external, in a professional manner. Resolves customer service problems to the mutual satisfaction of both the company and the customer. 
  • Accurately completes and processes documentation related to customer transactions. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 



  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Sales or Business preferred


  • Prior sales, customer service or business experience preferred

  • Ability to use an assumptive and outbound calling approach.
  • Ability to overcome objections and deal effectively with rejection, while remaining personable to both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to follow a scripted call format.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confident, assertive and goal oriented.
  • Possess temperament to accept and apply coaching.
  • Ability to learn the sales process and effectively apply it.


Physical Requirements

Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment. Work involves operation of personal computer equipment for extended periods of time. Occasional travel to offsite offices, customer sites and/or industry and training events may also be required.
