Job Description

Successful applicants will work with Iteris' R&D team to develop, refine, calibrate and validate various weather-related agronomic models, including models for crop growth staging and yield, soil water, evapotranspiration, irrigation, field accessibility, nutrient availability, pests and diseases, in-field grain dry-down, mechanical drying of grain, economics, and others. End users are farmers and their advisors. Excellent verbal and written communications skills are essential, as is a proven ability to work with potentially large datasets using various computing tools. Qualifications Required - 3+ years of undergraduate education in Agronomy, Soil Science, Plant Physiology / Pathology, Agricultural Economics or a related field

* Broad understanding of agronomy, soil science, plant physiology / pathology, and agricultural economics

Qualifications Desired - Bachelor's Degree or higher in Agronomy, Soil Science, Plant Physiology / Pathology, Agricultural Economics or a related field

* Familiarity or experience with factors impacting, and models for, the growth, reproduction, maturation and dry-down of various crops
* Familiarity or experience with crop disease and pest models, particularly as may be predictable based on environmental conditions
* Software development experience to include any or all of Python, Perl, C, Java, and/or Fortran; alternatively
* Proficiency in working with large datasets with common off-the-shelf software tools
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Self-starter able to work effectively independently as well as in a team environment
