Network and Security Engineer

Client Location: Lawrenceville, GA 30043

Experience managing Network and Security within a datacenter environment

They are tool agnostic - not married to the specific tools

Opportunity to help drive their process and implement new tools, technology as they grow.

Experience with Multi-vendor is a big plus.

Infrastructure Footprint:

Client has two production Co-location datacenters that run active-active. They have two different forests running in the datacenter with one for test and one for production. There is 7 racks in one and 5 racks in the other datacenter. Currently run XenServer as our hypervisor and run virtual for the application layer, but not on the storage layer. Storage is running on a SAN. They have three major customer facing products that consist of two web based, and one windows server based. They present windows server based application to clients through Citrix.

Essential Duties:

  • Identify, design, and implement security devices, including, but not limited to, Firewalls, VPN, IPS, SEIM, DLP, anti-virus, and anti-malware.
  • Identify, design, and implement certificate management, identity management, authentication, authorization, and federation solutions.
  • Identify, design, and implement policy and procedures, standards, configurations, settings, installation sequences and back-out instructions based on industry best practices.
  • Identify, design, and implement network technologies and methodologies to meet the future needs of the enterprise, including core, distribution, and access layers.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting of all applications, systems, networks, etc.
  • Identify and make improvements to the existing network environment by, analysing system performance and optimizing existing strategies and technologies based on workloads, and by implementing leading edge features or methodologies.
  • Act as senior level escalation to diagnose and resolve problems associated with network software and hardware; determine the source of problems and classify their level, priority, and nature.
  • Respond to security events both independently and as part of an Incident Management Team.
  • Participate in hardware and software reviews and recommend purchases.
  • Analyze and make recommendations for hardware and software standardization.
  • Tests software and hardware to evaluate ease of use and compatibility with enterprise environment.
  • Provides rotational 24/7 after-hours support as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a medium to large corporate environment
  • ASP/SaaS provider environment a plus
