Job Description

Are you looking to collaborate and be mentored by the brightest technology leadership? This software company that has a LOT of experience on board, is seeking an Applications Support Specialist. Most of the team has been working in the industry and customer verticals for many years.

As a tech start-up company based in west Midtown, they are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated operations team member who can join our support and operations team. They build software applications that are used by retailers and restaurant groups in North America and in Europe. Our in-house operations team is responsible for all external customer application support, application and service level monitoring, go-live support (remote and/or on-site), as well as internal infrastructure and application support.

Main duties & responsibilities

Functional responsibility

  1. Application support (level 1 and 2) for customer deployed and hosted applications
  2. Help desk management: support, event and incident management, SLA monitoring
  3. Technical writing for solution fixes, releases and best practice implementation guides
  4. Internal application and infrastructure maintenance (server infrastructure hosted with AWS)
  5. Post-sales implementation support for new customer installations
  6. Participate in product reviews representing internal operations and external customer groups
  7. Participate in new projects as required
  8. Regression test and QA support for code releases

Customer Operations

  • Support Process Management per the Support Process
  • Event and Incident Management
  • Implementation Support
  • Technical Training
  • Service Level Management

Core Systems we use:

  • Google Apps
  • Zendesk
  • Amazon Web Services
  • Jira/Confluence

Essential Skills:

  • Windows administration (including domain management)
  • Basic understanding of networking
  • General understanding of XML frameworks
  • Application support
  • Familiarity with Scripting languages at the command line


  • Amazon Web Services
  • Familiarity with domains and virtual datacenter server configuration and management
  • Knowledge of networking, Firewalls, and Routers
  • Linux
  • .NET, Java, C#, C++ or any other programming language


  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field.
  • A combination of education and experience may be submitted instead of a Bachelor's


  • Prefer min 2 years application support (help desk or field)
