Job Description

Title: Systems Engineer (2 openings)

Location: Atlanta

You will employ a broad knowledge of technology components - including desktops, desktop applications, laptops, mobile devices, registers, Firewalls, Switches, monitoring tools, operating systems, and a broad set of IT-related applications - to create, update and communicate computing technology best practices, standards and architectures to drive business results. Analyzes trends in emerging technologies to assess business impact and to provide viable solutions that address technology and business needs.

Tasks will include:

  • Drive the evaluation and selection of technology products to meet strategic business initiatives. Determine requirements, establish standards, execute proofs of concept and build prototypes to assess new approaches for end user solutions.
  • Develop creative, workable solutions to complex end user issues, projects and/or process designs. Develop logical business cases and evaluates the impact of solutions on service, cost and/or quality.
  • Guide Store Support Analysts in the implementation and support of solutions that adhere to enterprise IT standards. Articulate standards and guidelines to IT and business partners.
  • Translate business requirements into architectural components to develop solutions. Champion these technology solutions to IT management to gain approval.
  • Leverage technical knowledge to achieve business objectives. Resolve technical computing issues that impede solution development. Recommend changes to technological approach based upon knowledge of trends and best practices.
  • Provide training and guidance to Store Support Analysts. Document solutions and revise documented solutions as needed.
  • Assist Store Support Analysts in the resolution of incidents relating to solutions and devices in the Store Support Center and at store locations.
  • Collaborate with other Information Technology groups in requirements gathering and procurement of solutions, to include Systems Administration, Security Administration and Application Services.
  • Work with the business units to understand business needs, gather business requirements, formulate and present solution options to the business and IT management, and work with the various teams to implement the chosen solution.
  • Stay on top of industry news, technology products and trends, and various platforms to maintain deep industry and domain expertise.
  • Other duties as assigned.

To be successful in this position, you should possess most of the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in the field of computer science or information systems.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience as a Systems Engineer.
  • Possess a broad knowledge of technology components - including desktops, desktop applications, laptops, mobile devices, registers, Firewalls, Switches, monitoring tools, operating systems, and a broad set of IT-related applications.
  • Possess knowledge of Retail and Food & Beverage business, systems, and processes.
  • Ability to function within a team environment and must possess strong inter-personnel skills.
  • Ability to interact with users of varying levels of technological understanding.
  • Ability to clearly explain technical topics to both technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Ability to learn and support new systems and applications quickly.
  • Must be self-motivated, customer-centric, a team player, and possess a great attitude.
