Introduction

Industrial Designer Intern

We're looking for a talented Industrial Designer intern to join our Design team at iRobot.

Our group is responsible for defining the physical and digital experiences of iRobot. The Design Intern will work with us across ID, UI, UX and design researchers to assist our team in product design and development.

This role will support ID team to lead the design effort on projects from early concept through production including: design and consumer research; competitive marketplace analysis; and industrial design concept exploration, refinement, communication, & documentation. Design Intern is expected to work cross functionally with other industrial designers, UX/UI designers, engineers, researchers and visual designers to create tangible design solutions, and inform prototype development. This is an exciting time and we are relatively new team of skilled designers and researchers in the process of building a world-class internal design competency. Please join us to build cool stuff!

Skills you will need

* English proficiency (written and spoken) required
* Strong interest in understanding of form, function, visual composition, and conceptual integrity.
* The ability to communicate design concepts through hand sketches, mock-ups
* Eye for clean, visually impactful designs that are current and fresh.
* A great sensitivity to color, aesthetics, and materiality, and the ability to translate trends into compelling products.
* The ability to quickly build strong relationships within and across organizations.
* Highly proficient in a 3D programs and rendering program - Solidwors & Keyshot or similar.
* Highly proficient in the use of Adobe Creative Suite
