Job Description


The primary purpose of this position is to provide support to the customer engineering department including the testing and developing of new product and effectively resolving warranty issues with existing products. This position reports to the Vice President of Customer Engineering.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist in the set up and start up of various test rigs.
  • Monitor record and evaluate data from various test rigs.
  • Ensure that engine dyno equipment is properly maintained; maintenance records are established and kept up to date.
  • Collect dyno and engine data for new components.
  • Assist in the evaluation of warranty products including the understanding and utilization of the warranty software.
  • Develop an understanding of mechanical and electronic fuel injector function, components, building and troubleshooting.
  • Assist in product change and new product introduction activities within designated areas.
  • Provides troubleshooting support to technicians and operators

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Remains informed and certified on all products sold by the Company by improving technical knowledge as needed to perform effectively, demonstrate and explain products to customers to ensure proper and safe operation.
  • Maintains a neat and orderly work environment, including all product displays, and works safely and complies with all established safety rules and work practices.
  • Keeps supervisor informed of important information developments, potential problems and related information necessary for effective management.
  • Performs other work as directed by Supervision.

Education, Experience and Skills Required:

  • Two year degree with primary focus on diesel technology and/or a minimum of 3 years of experience in a diesel repair facility.
  • Understanding of QC documentation and APQP disciplines and requirements.
  • High energy level, ability to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events and reacts well under pressure.
  • Displays willingness to make decisions timely, exhibits sound and accurate judgment and communicates changes effectively.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact effectively with diverse personalities and individuals of all levels within and outside the organization.
  • Team building ability, self motivation, able to work independently.
  • Includes appropriate people in decision making process and supports/explains reasoning for decisions, resourceful and well organized.
  • Ability and willingness to maintain confidentiality as appropriate.
  • Positive attitude and professional image.
