Job Description

Los Angeles based, Internet Brands, Inc. is currently seeking an Entry Level Database Administrator.

Primary Responsibilities and Objectives:
- Administer MySQL databases.
- System level DBA functions including: configuring/initializing MySQL and setting up replication.
- Maintain MySQL database backups, upgrades and tuning.
- Maintain monitoring software.
- Analyze trends and work with development teams to develop a long-range plan designed to resolve problems and prevent recurrence.
- Refresh staging database environments with production data when requested.
- Follow database department standards and methodologies.
- Able to work extra/off hours as needs dictate.

Skills and Experience:
- Experience administering MySQL databases.
- Experience with query plan analysis and SQL tuning.
- Experience in writing/debugging database code (Queries, procedures, functions etc.).
- Unix shell scripting a plus
