About International School of the Peninsula

The International School of the Peninsula (ISTP) is an independent, co-educational dual language school for nursery through eighth grade students. With nearly 25 years of educational achievement, ISTP is recognized as a leader in bilingual education. ISTP offers two nursery through fifth grade immersion programs: Chinese-English and French-English. ISTP also offers two middle school programs: French-English and International Baccalaureate. The French-English Middle School provides an excellent academic curriculum that is fully aligned with the French Ministry of Education. The International Middle School, based on the world-renowned International Baccalaureate Program, provides a student-centered curriculum that enhances the student's self-awareness and broadens the student's international knowledge. ISTP was established in 1979 as the Peninsula French-American School. Founded by Madame Charlotte de Géry with a small group of parents and friends, the school originally opened its doors to nine students. Today, we have grown to nearly four hundred and fifty students. In 1996, the school added the Chinese-English program and changed its name to the International School of the Peninsula. ISTP is accredited by the "Ministère de l'Education Nationale", the California Association of Independent Schools (CAIS) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
